Dutch Open SAMBO Championship Draws Record Number of Participants 17 March 2025

Sambo has been known in Holland since 1990. It was officially founded in 1993 in the Hague.

Mr. H-J. Ningbers heads the federation. Mr. B. Roskam is Secretary General. Mr. H-J. Ningbers is competition chief secretary.

At present, the federation operates with 6 sport clubs.

Annually two sambo competitions are held in the Netherlands:
- Dutch Open Championship
- Open Ommen Championship

The International SAMBO Federation (FIAS) is a non-governmental, public, non-profit organization that unites National SAMBO Federations. FIAS is the only internationally recognized organization responsible for the development of SAMBO worldwide.

The FIAS website regularly features SAMBO news, as well as SAMBO videos and photos from SAMBO competitions. It also includes the official competition calendar of the International SAMBO Federation, the International SAMBO Rules, and other documents regulating tournaments in Sport SAMBO, Combat SAMBO and Beach SAMBO.
