World Masters SAMBO Championships to start in Dushanbe
Dushanbe will host the World Masters SAMBO Championships. The competition among sambists over 35 years old will be held in the capital of Tajikistan on October 25-27. Famous champions and amateur athletes from around the world will compete for medals in 7 age categories.
Traditionally, old friends who once competed together meet at such tournaments. Some will come to take revenge for a previous defeat, some will try to set a new record for the number of victories. But the main thing that unites all the participants is the love for SAMBO, which they carry in their hearts throughout their lives. The World Masters SAMBO Championships will be held at the Tennis Palace and Aquatics Centre in Dushanbe in the following age and weight categories:
Age categories (men): 35-39, 40-44 and 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, +65 years;
Weight categories: 64, 71, 79, 88, 98, over 98 kg.
Admission to the number of participants from the national team is not limited. The tournament will be held according to the Olympic system with consolation from the finalists.
