The Hungarian Sambo Championship was held in Budapest

On December, 3 the Hungarian Sambo Federation organized the National SAMBO Championship. Competitions among adults in Sport and Combat SAMBO were held in REAC Sports hall.

– The championship was smaller than in recent times, the Covid-19 virus left its mark on the mass base, but there were exciting matches. We strive for quality and expansion. The next step is that we would like to organize our International Hungarian Grand Prix competition at the end of February, to which we warmly welcome the surrounding countries. Our common interest is in development, – said Imre Papp, founder and president of Hungarian Sambo Federation.

5 clubs of Hungary took part in the tournament. Imperial SE took the first place in team classification with representatives of the club winning 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. Second place was taken by Imperial-Predator Gym, and third byHalker Király team Csepel.

The National champions of Hungary in 2022 are:

Sport SAMBO (men) 98 kg: Pálinkás Gergely

Sport SAMBO (men) +98 kg: Kavas Patrik

Combat SAMBO (men) 79 kg: Csibi Gergely

Combat SAMBO (men) 88 kg: Kovács Krisztián

Combat SAMBO (men) 98 kg: Tóth Bálint
