FIAS Held International Seminar for Coaches in Cyprus

The second international seminar for the FIAS coaches was given on September 28-30 in Nicosia, Cyprus. For three days, experts from Bulgaria, Iceland, Cyprus, and Switzerland studied the basics of SAMBO techniques classification, SAMBO techniques coaching methods, and also the peculiarities of SAMBO coaching for athletes of various age groups. By the results of theoretical and practical classes, an examination was conducted.

'The atmosphere at the seminar was both creative and working. All participants were actively involved in the process, and the knowledge gained in theory was immediately carried into effect on practice,' said the seminar facilitator, FIAS Sports Director Dmitry Maximov. 'Not all the trainees managed to successfully pass the exam, but we hope that they would be luckier next time. They have completed the necessary training course and will be able to consolidate this material at home.'

Now, there are five more licensed experts in international SAMBO. The grantees of the FIAS “SAMBO Coach of the 2nd Level” certificates are:

STOLJAROV Aleksandr (Iceland);

ODYSSEOS George (Cyprus);

STAVRIDIS Christinos (Cyprus);

PAPADOPOULOS Nicolas (Cyprus);

NIKOLOV Andrey (Bulgaria).

As Dmitry Maximov noted, the next international seminar for the FIAS coaches is scheduled for 2019. The announcement will be published on the FIAS website.
