Youth and Junior Championships and the Asia and Oceania Sambo Masters Championships will start in Aktau

More than 500 athletes and guests from 25 countries will gather at the Asia and Oceania Sport and Combat Sambo Championship among youth, juniors, cadets and masters. This is the first time such competitions have been held in Aktau, reports the Center for Public Communications. The championship starts on May 13. The venue will be the Halyk Arena sports complex.

As the President of the Sambo Union of Asia and Oceania Alamzhon Mullaev said at a briefing on the eve of the competition, participants from 25 countries of the world are gathering for these large-scale competitions.

– Numerous guests gather in Aktau, who, I am sure, will be delighted with our nature and the hospitality of the Mangistau people. And I would also like to express my gratitude to everyone who participates in this significant event, as well as in the development of SAMBO, – Alamjon Mullaev said.

During the briefing, Akim Aktau Ulugbek Tnaliev noted that the tournament will play a huge role in the development of tourism in the region.

– In accordance with the instructions of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the development of tourism in the city of Aktau has become a priority direction for promoting our economy. This year, one of the main events in our city will be the Youth and Junior Championships and the Asia and Oceania Sambo Masters Championships. I think that the upcoming tournament will contribute to the development of SAMBO, – Ulugbek Tnaliev said.

The head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Mangistau Region, Maksat Mukash, informed that 96 athletes from Kazakhstan will take part in the championship.

The President of the Kazakhstan Federation of Sport and Combat Sambo, Aidos Akzhanov, added that the competitions are also significant because they increase the interest of young athletes in the sport.

– Holding the championship in our home certainly increases the status of our country, the interest of young people in sports, and contributes to the growth of the professional level of our athletes. After this competition, in November, we plan to hold the World Championships in Astana, and at a high level, –Aidos Akzhanov said.
