Coaches and secretary referees were trained at international seminars in Serbia
The International SAMBO Federation together with the National SAMBO Federation of Serbia held international seminars in the city of Novi Sad. From February 2 to 3, a training event for coaches was held, and on February 4-5, a seminar for secretary referees was held. The initiator of these seminars was the European SAMBO Federation.
The training took place on the basis of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the University of Novi Sad. Theoretical classes for coaches were held in a spacious lecture hall, after which the acquired knowledge was consolidated in practice in one of the sports halls of the university. About 30 specialists from 6 countries took part in the seminar of coaches: Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Latvia, Serbia and Croatia.
“During the training, we made a kind of “inventory”: we repeated the main terms, remembered the school of performing SAMBO techniques, and also mastered some aspects of the teaching methodology. As a result of the seminar, “people's appetite woke up”. Such events provide an invaluable opportunity to exchange experience for all its participants, and also cover an important thing – specialists from different countries need to constantly communicate,” said Sergey Tabakov, FIAS Executive Director, who conducted the seminar for coaches.
After the training, the participants were tested in the form of a business game. Divided into mini-groups, the specialists received task cards, after which they presented various SAMBO techniques both in the standing and in the stalls. Participants who successfully completed the tasks received FIAS coaching certification.
“Even those who were somewhat skeptical about the seminar before it started, after two days of work did not hide their enthusiasm and expressed the most laudatory comments about this training. I think, along with useful knowledge and skills, they also received a charge of motivation for a long time,” Sergey Tabakov noted.
Secretary referees were trained by 3 experts: Denis Vyshegorodtsev, Frank Ningbergs and Christinos Stavridis. Each of them prepared a presentation and gave a lecture on their topic. The seminar for secretaries was attended by representatives of 7 countries: Armenia, Bulgaria, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Macedonia and Serbia.
The theory was followed by practical work, during which the secretaries had to correctly and quickly deploy the FIAS refereeing system, prepare it for the start of work and conduct a test competition. Specialists who successfully completed this task received certification of the 1st continental level.
“During the training of secretaries in the hall there was a maximum concentration of attention of the participants. Specialists carefully followed everything that the experts showed them, trying to absorb as much information as possible, – Sergey Tabakov noted. – Both seminars, which were held one after another, were organized at a very high level thanks to the efforts of the national federation. I want to express my deep gratitude to the SAMBO Federation of Serbia, headed by Tatjana Trivic, Patrik Drid and Ivana Jandrić, who provided great assistance in organizing and holding these events.”
