The Central Bank of Russia will issue commemorative coins dedicated to SAMBO

In the very near future SAMBO athletes may enjoy a new hobby. With a certain degree of probability we can say that some of them will become numismatists. Issue of the commemorative coins on the SAMBO subject will serve as the starting point for it. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation supported FIAS corresponding initiative in the year of 75th SAMBO anniversary.

According to the First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia Georgy Luntovsky, the coins will be issued in two nominal values:

3 roubles nominal value made of 925 standard silver with silver content of 31.1 g. of the quality of coinage “proof” and the mintage is up to 3 thousand pieces;

50 roubles nominal value made of 999 standard gold with gold content of 7.78 g. of the quality of coinage “proof” and the mintage is up to 750 pieces.

It’s no long to wait for their issue. It is reported that the coins will be issued in the second half of 2013.
