Sambo will be presented for the first time in Doha within the frameworks of National sports day

The sambo show will introduce local residents to this unique sport. It will be organized within the framework of the Project of cultural exchange between Qatar and Russia as a part of the program of Qatar National sports day. The general partner of the event is Russian oil company Rosneft.

On February 12th, 2019 with the support of The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) the presentation of sambo and a series of master-classes by 7 best Russian sambo experts will take place in Doha. Sambo is a unique combat sport based on the synthesis of the very best of the world’s martial arts. Sambo has quickly become one of the most beloved and popular sports in Russia.

Russian sambo experts will introduce the public to the unique sport especially for the National sports day in Doha. During the breaks, professional trainers will show all interested audience the basic self-defense techniques, tell about the peculiarities of beach sambo, invite to take part in various master-classes and competitions with prizes. Moreover, within the event a special photo exhibition will be organized representing an 80-year history of sambo.
