Achievements: 5-time world champion, 8-time champion of the USSR, Honored Master of Sports, Order of Honor of the Russian Federation, medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II degree

Fact: in 2010 in the Altai Territory (Russia) a sports school of sambo and judo for kids named after Shkalov was opened.

"Altai Territory is where I became an athlete, a champion. My sacred duty is to do something for this beloved land, for the children, to help them choose the way not to drugs but to the sport, success, and an interesting life."

Vladimir Shkalov is a lieutenant-colonel of the military prosecution.
