The Kazakhstan SAMBO Championships were held in Aktau for the first time

The Mangistau region of Kazakhstan for the first time hosted the national SAMBO Championships, which took place in the city of Aktau on February 25-27. The venue for the large-scale competition was the Mangistau Arena sports complex.
About 500 athletes from 16 regions and 3 cities of national significance competed for medals in Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO both among men and women.
The Kazakhstan Championships not only determined the strongest SAMBO athletes of this year, it also became a qualifying tournament for the formation of a national team for international competitions in the current season.
Based on the results of the competitions in Aktau, the names of athletes who will represent Kazakhstan in April at the Asia and Oceania Championships in Tashkent, as well as in November at the World Championships in Ashgabat were determined.
"SAMBO is not just a sport, it is a large school that fosters patriotism and love for the country, order and culture. Today, this martial art is actively developing in Kazakhstan. Our athletes show excellent results not only at local competitions, but also on the world stage. We are confident that Kazakhstani SAMBO athletes will worthily represent our country at the largest international competitions this year!" – stated the Kazakhstan Federation of Sport and Combat SAMBO.
