World Cup event in Sambo, A.A. Kharlampiev Memorial, which took place at the sports palace "Druzhba" in Moscow on March 25-26, gathered more than 200 athletes from 22 countries of the world. The competitions were held in sports sambo for men and women and in combat sambo.
A bright moment of the opening ceremony was a public declaration of love and an offer of marriage. Such a serious and romantic move has been made by a student of the legendary "Sambo-70" school Ivan Morozov. This moment caused a strong reaction from the audience and tears of tenderness from fair sex as well as admiration from the media. Many joked that from now on all sambo wrestlers have to marry this way.
The romantic emotions have been followed by emotions, stirred by intriguing and spectacular bouts. Over two days of the competitions 20 sets of medals have been awarded. Teams Russia, Belarus and Georgia were among the favorites. The next World Cup event will take place in June, in Vladivostok, Russia.
