FIAS and Peace and Sport call sambists for participation in the #WhiteCard campaign
FIAS and “Peace and Sport” encourage each person and organization to mobilize for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, celebrated on April 6th, around the theme “Sport is an answer, raise your #WhiteCard”.
By sharing testimonials and concrete peace-through-sport initiatives, you can demonstrate your commitment to peace, unity, and social integration through sport. You can demonstrate that sport can accelerate social transformation and foster the construction of inclusive and peaceful societies.
Join the celebration on April 6, 2022:
• Collecting stories and examples of the world through sports initiatives by registering on a special platform www.april6.org along with a photo # WhiteCard;
• Participate in the #WhiteCard digital social media campaign by sharing #WhiteCard photos along with stories or examples of the world through sports initiatives. Don't forget to note the #SAMBO and #FIAS
The Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly on 23 August 2013 proclaimed 6 April the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, which presents an opportunity to recognize the positive role sport and physical activity play in communities and people’s lives across the globe.

This day is commemorated each year globally by international, regional, national sport and development organizations to honour the role that sport plays in society, whether by encouraging healthier lifestyles, making Sport more widely accessible, or using it as a vehicle for development in areas made vulnerable by conflict, poverty, and inequality.
“Peace and Sport” is an international, neutral, and independent organization that promotes peace using the power of Sport. Years ago, they launched the #WhiteCard Campaign to celebrate and unite people worldwide for the common goals. FIAS has striven to maintain common targets with Peace and Sport and participates and supports various initiatives. Already for years SAMBO community not only holds the #WhiteCard on April 6 but participates in charity programs, winning annual awards, and are presented as “Peace and Sport” Ambassadors.
The sports movement has mobilized worldwide to make its voice heard. Over 150 athletes and Champions for Peace, including 30 Olympic and Paralympic medallists representing 33 sporting disciplines and more than 20 countries, rallied around the #WhiteCard symbol. They joined an appeal launched by Peace and Sport to use the neutrality of Sport to instigate dialogue and promote peace.
