FIAS congratulates on International Day of Sports Journalists
Today, July 2, is the International Day of the sports journalist. It is thanks to the sports reporters that the whole world knows about the achievements and emotions, actions and opinions, victories and defeats of representatives of various sports. Through the eyes of photographers and videographers we watch sambo competitions and thanks to the texts of writing and speaking media we can learn the details of everything that happens at tournaments and beyond.
International Day of the sports journalist was first celebrated in 1995 at the initiative of the International Sports Press Association. The basis for establishing the date of this professional holiday was a historic event. On this day in 1924 in Paris the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) was founded that unites almost a hundred and fifty journalists’ national unions today. It should be noted that FIAS and AIPS have a partnership agreement whereby journalists around the world learn about the events and news of sambo and tell about them in their countries.
International Sambo Federation congratulates all the sports journalists of the world on their professional holiday. We wish you a sharp pen, good shots and tireless interest in the profession!
