FIAS Launches Official Belt System Website

The International SAMBO Federation (FIAS) has launched a dedicated website presenting the FIAS Belt System – a structured qualification framework for SAMBO practitioners of all levels.

The platform brings certification requirements for each qualification rank in the format of a library of practical lessons delivered through short video tutorials, supported by illustrated theoretical materials.

The FIAS Belt System comprises ten levels in total. Practitioners begin as a Novice (no stripe), then progress through six Student levels – each marked by a coloured stripe on the belt – before reaching the Master track: Candidate for Master, Master, and Grand Master. Stripes range from white through to burgundy, providing a clear visual marker of each athlete's progress.

At present, the website offers open access to the techniques and theory for the first two levels: Novice and Student Level 1. Content for the remaining levels will be made available progressively in the near future.

SAMBO athletes and coaches are encouraged to explore the platform now – reviewing the requirements, techniques, and level structure – and begin preparing for FIAS Belt System examinations. A dedicated series of materials covering the full examination and certification process will be published on the official FIAS website shortly.
