2026 US Open International SAMBO Cup Coming to Pennsylvania

The 2026 US Open International SAMBO Cup will take place on March 28 in Newtown, Pennsylvania. The competition will be hosted at Bucks County Community College and is organized by the US national SAMBO federation, USA Sambo Inc.

The tournament carries real sporting stakes: its results will determine the roster of the US National SAMBO Team for the 2026 Pan American and World Championships. It is worth noting that just a year ago, this event made its debut in its current international format – and immediately became a fixture on the North American SAMBO calendar.

The Cup features two disciplines – Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO – with competitions open to both men and women. Athletes must be at least 18 years of age and members of their respective national federations.

Weight categories for the tournament are as follows:

Sport SAMBO Men: 64, 71, 79, 88, +88 kg

Sport SAMBO Women: 54, 59, 65, 72, +72 kg

Combat SAMBO Men: 64, 71, 79, 88, +88 kg

Combat SAMBO Women: 54, 59, 65, 72, +72 kg

Each weight category allows up to five athletes from the United States and up to two athletes from each foreign national team. A single competitor may enter both Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO disciplines.
