International SAMBO Tournament in Amyndeo Unites Athletes from Three Countries
On March 8, the Greek city of Amyndeo hosted an International SAMBO Tournament in the Youth and Junior categories for both male and female athletes. According to the organizing committee, competitors from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Greece took part in the event.
The tournament was organized to help young athletes prepare for the upcoming European Youth and Junior SAMBO Championships, set to take place in Novi Sad, Serbia, this April. A total of 97 young SAMBO athletes stepped onto the mat to compete for medals in Amyndeo.

“This tournament gave the athletes valuable competitive experience and the opportunity to test themselves in an international setting ahead of the continent's premier youth and junior event. On behalf of the national federation, I would like to thank all participants, coaches, and organizers, and wish the athletes the very best in the competitions ahead,” said Merampi Iliadis, President of the Hellenic Federation SAMBO, Kurash, Chidaoba.
