International Youth SAMBO Tournament in Memory of Tabynbaev Held in Kazakhstan

The city of Atyrau hosted the 6th International SAMBO Tournament among youths, dedicated to the memory of the Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, referee of the international category Koshkarbay Toremuratovich Tabynbaev. About 300 athletes born in 2006-2007 from 6 countries took part in the competitions held on June 20-23.

“This tournament is held annually with the support of the Atyrau Regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports and the Atyrau Regional Federation of Sports and Combat SAMBO. The purpose of the competition is to develop and popularize SAMBO in Kazakhstan, as well as to exchange experience with foreign athletes. Koshkarbay Toremuratovich made a great contribution to the development of SAMBO in the Atyrau region and in Kazakhstan as a whole,” said Kairat Doskaliyev, FIAS international referee.

All winners of the tournament were awarded medals, diplomas and valuable prizes. The winners of the competitions in each weight category were also awarded championship belts of the tournament.
