Moldova Names Youth and Junior SAMBO Team for 2026 European Championships

The second half of February proved to be a busy period for SAMBO in Moldova, with the city of Bălți serving as the hub for a series of events: a coaching seminar, a training camp, and the national youth and junior championship.

On February 14, Bălți hosted a seminar and training camp that brought together athletes and coaches from seven cities across the country's northern regions. The session focused on refining technical and tactical skills and facilitating an exchange of coaching expertise.

From February 20 to 22, the Boris Petukhov Sports Hall was the venue for the Moldovan SAMBO Championship among youth and juniors. A total of 380 athletes from every region of the country took to the mat. Beyond the national title, the stakes were raised by selection spots on the national team – category winners earned official places in the team ahead of the 2026 European Championships.
