Armenian Youth SAMBO Championships Held in Yerevan

The Dynamo Sports Complex in Yerevan hosted the Armenian Junior SAMBO Championships on March 1. More than 100 athletes from across the country competed in the youth male and female divisions.

According to the Armenian SAMBO Federation, the tournament was a great opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills on a major stage, while coaches used it to identify talents for the national team’s participation in international competitions. 

"This was my first time competing at the Armenian Junior SAMBO Championships. It’s an incredible motivation for my future development and a valuable experience that will boost my confidence going forward. Huge thanks to my coaches and friends for their support!" – shared Jonik Ozmanyan, one of the tournament participants.

The top athletes were awarded medals, and some have already received invitations to join the Armenian national team.

"With impressive technique, smart tactics, strength and agility, these athletes proved they are the best in Armenia. Their next challenge will be to replicate these outstanding performances on the international stage," – the Armenian SAMBO Federation noted.
