Bulgarian Youth SAMBO Championships Held at the National Home of SAMBO

The Bulgarian Youth SAMBO Championships took place on May 10-11 in the city of Panagyurishte. The competitions for athletes aged 10 to 14 were held at the “Arena Asarel” venue, widely referred to as the national Home of SAMBO.

According to the Bulgarian SAMBO Federation, the tournament brought together 325 young athletes representing 26 clubs from across the country. Medals were contested in two age groups: 10-12 years and 12-14 years.

“Youth competitions are always filled with powerful emotions. At such events, you’ll witness both the purest joy of victory and the deepest disappointment of defeat. It’s hard to overstate how important this kind of experience is for young sambists – it’s where they feel the thrill of competition for the first time, test their willpower, and begin to build strength of character,” the Bulgarian SAMBO Federation noted.

The Youth SAMBO Championships became a major event for the city of Panagyurishte. Local sports enthusiasts, including Mayor Zhelyazko Gagov, followed the action closely from the stands. During the tournament, the mayor presented a commemorative plaque to the President of the Bulgarian SAMBO Federation, Rosen Dimitrov.
