Kazakhstan Junior SAMBO Championship Held in Shymkent

The Kazakhstan Junior SAMBO Championship took place in the city of Shymkent from March 16 to 18. Around 450 athletes from 18 regions of the country competed in both Sport and Combat SAMBO.
For every participant, the stakes were high – not just national-level medals, but also a chance to secure a spot on Kazakhstan's junior national team for upcoming international tournaments. The results of this championship determined the lineup of junior athletes who will represent Kazakhstan at the most prestigious events on the FIAS calendar.
"The Kazakhstan Junior SAMBO Championship served as a qualifying tournament for the Asia & Oceania SAMBO Championships, which will be held in Tashkent this April. The competition helped athletes refine their skills and became a crucial milestone in their sporting careers," noted the Kazakhstan Federation of Sport and Combat SAMBO.
A total of 32 medal sets were contested in Shymkent – 16 in the junior men's category and 16 in the junior women's category. The athletes who earned their spots in international tournaments have already begun their preparations for the continental championship.
