World Cadet, Youth and Junior SAMBO Championships to be held in Larnaca

The Republic of Cyprus will host the main youth tournament of the year in SAMBO – the World Cadet, Youth and Junior SAMBO Championships, which will be held on October 11-13 in the city of Larnaca. The competitions will be held in 55 weight categories in Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO among cadets (14-16 years old), youth (16-18 years old) and juniors (18-20 years old).

The general partner of the tournament is Rosneft oil company, the official partner is VTB Bank.

SAMBO bouts will be held in the following weight categories:

Sport SAMBO

Juniors male: 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg;

Juniors female: 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg;

Youth male: 53 kg, 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg;

Youth female: 47 kg, 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg;

Cadets (boys): 46 kg, 49 kg, 53 kg, 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, +88 kg

Cadets (girls): 41 kg, 44 kg, 47 kg, 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, +72 kg

Combat SAMBO

Juniors male: 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg

“The World Cadet, Youth and Junior SAMBO Championships traditionally attract the increased attention of all fans of martial arts and combat sports, because it takes place on the eve of the World SAMBO Championships, and also allows us to determine the countries that have achieved the greatest success in the development of youth SAMBO, and to predict the level of competition in the future.

This tournament is also an excellent opportunity for young athletes to demonstrate their best qualities, test their professional skills and gain invaluable experience before entering adult sports life. Often, it is at this tournament that new stars emerge, who in a few years will shine brightly in the SAMBO firmament.
