The city of Oruro, Bolivia, hosted a national seminar on SAMBO for blind and visually impaired athletes. The event, held on 18 July, was part of the working calendar of the National Commission on SAMBO for Athletes with Visual Impairments. More than 100 athletes from seven departments of the country – Tarija, Potosí, La Paz, Oruro, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, and Sucre – took part in the seminar.

Participants discussed key aspects of the Blind SAMBO discipline, including rules and regulations, sports planning, and training organization. The educational sessions aimed to improve the preparation level of athletes and coaches ahead of Bolivia’s first national Blind SAMBO championship, which is scheduled to take place in September in Sucre.

It is expected that the tournament will determine Bolivia’s representative for the World Blind SAMBO Championships, to be held in November in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
