“Bruxelles Open” SAMBO Tournament Held in Belgium
The “Bruxelles Open” SAMBO tournament took place on May 4 in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Around 70 athletes from Germany, France, and Belgium competed in the event. According to the tournament’s organizing committee, medals were contested across various age and weight categories.
“Holding events like this allows athletes to test themselves against opponents of similar skill levels,” said Claude Boll, Secretary General of the Belgian SAMBO Federation. “At the moment, it’s difficult for Belgian sambists to compete with the world’s leading athletes at major international championships. That’s why we’ve chosen a strategy of steady progress, and the ‘Bruxelles Open’ tournament is an important step in that direction.”
He also expressed hope that the tournament would become an annual event, attracting participants from across different countries.
