At the 2026 Pan American SAMBO Championships, held in Alajuela, Costa Rica, Brazil's Priscila Rodriguez de Souza claimed gold in the women's +80kg Sport SAMBO category. For the athlete, this victory marked her third Pan American title.

“I just won my third Pan American SAMBO title. This title is for us, for Brazil!” the athlete proudly declared right after the awards ceremony.

Asked about the toughest moment of the tournament, Souza admitted that the biggest challenge wasn't the match itself, but the wait beforehand.

“I think the hardest part was finding the patience to wait, because it took so long. I couldn't wait to get out on the mat, fight, and win my third title,” the athlete said.

The Brazilian dedicated her victory to her home country.

“I dedicate this title to my Brazil, to my nation, who have always believed in my work. Let's go, Brazil!” said Priscila Souza.
