“The National Sambo Federation of Kyrgyzstan continues to hold major international tournaments on the territory of the Republic: last year the World Championship was hosted by Bishkek, and in August of this year the World Cup was held on the shores of Issyk-Kul, in the city of Cholpon-Ata. It’s nice to see how the state’s attention to our sport is growing, and the level of professional skill of sambists is growing together with it.

Often, it is at the World Youth and Junior Championships that new stars shine. Young sambists get the opportunity to demonstrate their best qualities and loudly express themselves. I think that the upcoming tournament will not be an exception, and this time the audience will also witness the rise to the podium of sambists from distant countries of the world, who in the future will be able to compete highly with the traditional favorites of the competition,” noted FIAS President Vasily Shestakov.
