SAMBO Joins the Olympic Family in Celebrating Olympic Day 2025
On June 23, the global SAMBO community marks Olympic Day 2025 alongside athletes and sports enthusiasts around the world. Celebrated annually, this day commemorates the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894 and promotes the core Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect. Since becoming an IOC-recognized federation in 2021, the International SAMBO Federation (FIAS) proudly joins this international initiative, reaffirming its place in the Olympic family.
This year’s Olympic Day campaign – Let’s Move! – highlights the importance of physical activity and its power to connect people. Launched in partnership with the World Health Organization, the campaign is a response to rising levels of physical inactivity across the globe. With more than 150 National Olympic Committees taking part, the initiative encourages everyone to dedicate time to movement – together.
For the SAMBO community, physical activity is more than sport – it is part of daily life, a source of resilience, and a way to connect. Whether on the mat or off, SAMBO athletes live the values of discipline, determination, and solidarity. Taking part in Let’s Move! is a natural extension of these values.
FIAS invites all SAMBO athletes, coaches, fans, and national federations to join the global celebration. Participate in the digital workout, train with a partner, or simply take a walk with a friend. However you choose to move, the message is the same: physical activity is a force for health, happiness, and human connection.

The Olympic Day message also aligns with the IOC’s Olympism365 strategy, which promotes inclusive access to sport and highlights its physical, mental, and social benefits. SAMBO continues to contribute to this vision, offering pathways for engagement and growth through sport in communities around the world.
SAMBO participants are encouraged to share their Let’s Move! moments online. Whether it’s a training session or a casual workout, post photos or short videos using the hashtags #LetsMove, #OlympicDay, #SAMBO, and #FIAS. Tag @Olympics to show the SAMBO community’s commitment to movement, unity, and the Olympic spirit.

As a sport that fosters strength and mutual support, SAMBO proudly stands with the Olympic movement. On June 23, we move together – on and off the mat.
