Uzbekistan held its prestigious “National Sports Awards 2025” ceremony, celebrating the year's sporting achievements and honoring outstanding performances by national teams and athletes.
The highlight for the SAMBO community was the recognition of Uzbekistan's national SAMBO team as the Best Sports Team of 2025 in the non-Olympic sports category. This prestigious award underscores the exceptional level of preparation of Uzbek sambists and their impressive results on the international stage.
“This recognition is the result of years of dedicated work by the entire Uzbek SAMBO family,” said Alisher Alimov, President of the SAMBO Association of Uzbekistan. “Our sambists have proven that Uzbekistan is one of the world's leading centers for the development of this sport. We are grateful to everyone who contributes to SAMBO's growth in our country: coaches, athletes, and sports school administrators. This award inspires us to reach new heights and confirms we're on the right path.”
Throughout the year, Uzbek sambists consistently delivered outstanding performances at major international tournaments under the FIAS banner, solidifying their status as one of the world's premier sambo powerhouses.
