Guedez sisters in the "Way of the Champion" project: two Marias - two champions

The 22nd episode of the series “Way of the Champion”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of SAMBO, was released on the Sambo.Live video portal. The heroes of the issue are world SAMBO champions, sisters Maria Guedez and Maria Amyulina Guedez.

Maria Guedez: “My sister and I are 10 years apart: I’m older, she’s younger. And, of course, on the one hand, I always defended her if any conflicts occurred. But there were times when we sorted things out or shared something. Yes, we did fight. When I grew up, I began to think that I should still set an example, be wiser... And then we both completely threw ourselves into sports – first me, then Maria, and other fights began – in sports. If before I beat her all the time, now when we spar, it is no longer known which of us is stronger. Therefore, we sort things out on the mat, but, of course, we do it all with great love.”
