National SAMBO Championship Held in Bishkek
The Kyrgyz Republic Championship in Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO among men and women took place at the Kojomkul Palace of Sports in Bishkek from February 16 to 18.
A total of 377 athletes representing all regions of the country competed in the tournament, making it one of the most representative domestic SAMBO events of the season. Refereeing was carried out by a panel that included international-class referees from Uzbekistan.

“Our goal was to ensure the highest standard of competition at every stage, which is why we decided to bring in top-level referees from Uzbekistan. This guaranteed objective refereeing throughout the bouts and elevated the overall status of the championship. I am confident that the athletes and coaches who took part appreciated that decision,” said Aziz Ibraev, President of the SAMBO Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The national championship also served as a qualification event, with its results determining the composition of the national team that will represent Kyrgyzstan at international SAMBO competitions in 2026.
