Hungarian sambists held demonstration performances with Ferencvaros club football players
Master classes and demonstration performances were conducted by Hungarian sambists as part of the program of the Day of Sports and Culture, which was held in the Hungarian city of Szentendre on the banks of the Danube. Sambists, together with representatives of other sports, performed to motivate young people to engage more in sports and physical activities.
“The development of sports and culture is extremely important, especially for our future generations. Today, fewer and fewer children are involved in sports, and we want to change this by introducing and captivating them with our favorite martial arts – SAMBO,” said the founder and president of the Hungarian Sambo Federation, Imre Papp.
The program of the event “Let's Relax Together in a Sporty Way” included various programs that took place on stage, in the ring and on the mat. Sambists demonstrated their skills during master classes, and star football players of the famous Hungarian club Ferencvaros organized motivational presentations for participants in the Day of Sports and Culture.
“I am especially pleased that prominent representatives of their sports accepted our invitation and held demonstrations and master classes in Muay Thai, Olympic wrestling, Savate, fencing, folk dancing, taekwondo, kickboxing, table tennis, aerobics, and shooting. In addition, children's programs and concerts have made the program truly popular,” added Imre Papp.
Representatives of the city and parliament also took part in the program of the Day of Sports and Culture, who made welcoming speeches and even took part in some master classes. The event was organized by the Imperial Sambo Association in collaboration with the Összeköt Association and with the support of the Hungarian Sambo Federation.
“This was good preparation for our summer Beach SAMBO competitions, where we want to invite teams from neighboring European countries. I am sure that Beach SAMBO will become another landmark event for popularizing the sport among young people,” concluded the head of Hungarian SAMBO.
