Russian athlete Anastasia Khomyachkova surprised the sambo world by her successive super results. Two weeks ago in Astrakhan she became national sambo champion among girls in the weight category under 68 kg. On February 17 in Ryazan 17-year-old sambo athlete repeated her champion achievement at the tournament among junior girls. In the competition with her older opponents Anastasia has completed all preliminary bouts using painful holds and showed very confident fighting in the victorious final.

Anastasia Khomyachkova told in her interview to the Press Service of the All-Russian Sambo Federation that the second win in the season was very important for her. “I am younger than other participants of the national competition among juniors and this result is very important for me. Almost two weeks ago in Astrakhan I was the first among girls. I did not lose my weight before youth competitions and decided to participate in the heavier category. I feel good and full of energy. I thank my coach Yuri Arkadievich Sinko for support.”

“How did I turn onto sambo? My brother went in for this sport. He had been always showing me something after his trainings, it was interesting for me, and I went for training too,” shared Anastasia with her memories. And she specified her goals, “Now I want to show the results at the World Championship. However, we have not decided in what age category.”
