World Beach SAMBO Championships to Proceed as Planned Despite Storm Warning in Brazil

In Caraguatatuba (São Paulo state, Brazil), where the World Beach SAMBO Championships are scheduled to take place on September 12-13, 2026, local weather authorities have issued a storm warning. As a result, organizers have decided to move the competition from Indaiá Beach to an indoor venue.

The tournament dates remain unchanged – September 12 and 13. The Organizing Committee, together with the Brazilian Sambo Confederation and the International SAMBO Federation (FIAS), swiftly adjusted the logistics to ensure the safety of athletes, officials and spectators without compromising the sporting program.

The adverse weather conditions during this period are affecting a large stretch of the region's coastline, posing additional challenges for organizers of outdoor events across the area. Even so, the SAMBO family is once again living up to its motto: whatever the circumstances, the competition goes on.
