“We made every effort to hold the championship at a high organizational and sports level. The audience really had something to see, given the development of SAMBO in Venezuela and the high level of competitiveness of our athletes. Based on the results of the championship, selection took place for the national team, which will represent the country at upcoming international competitions – both continental and world,” said the President of the Venezuelan SAMBO Federation, Cesar Arteaga.

According to tradition, before the start of the qualifying championship, the annual assembly of the national federation was also held with the participation of representatives from various states of the country.

“During the event, the participants summed up the results of 2023, which, thanks to the hard work of the federation and the national team, turned out to be impressive. The Venezuelan team became the Pan American champion last year and won three bronze medals at the World Beach Sambo Championships. The Venezuelans also have awards at multi-sport competitions - the World Combat Games: a gold medal in Blind SAMBO, bronze in Combat SAMBO, as well as third place in competitions among teams,” Arteaga noted.
