Casablanca became the venue for the Moroccan SAMBO Championships

The Moroccan Championships in Sport and Combat SAMBO were held in Casablanca on February 19. According to the organizing committee, about 250 sambists from various regions of the country took part in the tournament, held at the Mohammed V Sports Complex. The event was organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sambo and Tai Jitsu.

The winners were determined in 7 weight categories in Sport SAMBO among men, in 4 weight categories in Sport SAMBO among women and in 7 weight categories in Combat SAMBO among men.

“We witnessed beautiful fights where sambists fought not only for the title of champions of the country, but also for the opportunity to join the national team. Thus, the tournament has become a qualifying tournament for participation in international competitions,” said Dalil Scalli, President of the National SAMBO Federation.

According to the Organizing Committee, a large team of referees from the national judiciary ensured objective refereeing at the competitions, and the successful holding of the competitions became possible thanks to the well-coordinated work of all employees of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sambo and Tai Jitsu.

The winners were awarded medals and corresponding diplomas. They received their awards from the hands of the leaders of the national federation, as well as honored guests. Now the athletes have to prepare for international tournaments in which the Moroccan SAMBO team will take part.
