Kristina Kazanoi: “I Did Everything I Could To Win”

Kristina Kazanoi (Belarus), the winner of the International Sambo Tournament for the Prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus in the under 60 kg weight category, shared her impressions in her interview to the FIAS website immediately after the finals.

- The fight proved to be very challenging, yet I managed to get a grip on myself and did everything I could to win. My opponent was also from Belarus, and we knew each other very well, often being sparring partners in training sessions. In such a situation it`s essential to stay focused if you want to win. You also have to choose the right tactics. 

The national team for participation in the World and European championships is formed by the results of this tournament. The council of coaches will make their decision based on both the results and performance displayed by the athletes on the mat. And of course, this year all sambists are scoring rating points for participation in the 2019 European Games. Hope I can qualify for the Games in Minsk.
