The Beirut Open Sambo Championship was held in Lebanon
Sambists from 7 countries took part in the Beirut Open Sambo Championship. At the competitions held in the Lebanese capital on December 12, medals were awarded in 10 weight categories: 7 in Sport SAMBO and 3 in Combat SAMBO among men.
Athletes from Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Sudan, Egypt and Lebanon took part in the tournament. According to the Lebanese Sambo and Judo Federation, the Iraqi team took the first place in the team competition in Sport SAMBO. The Lebanese team was behind them, and the athletes from Syria came third.
Among Combat SAMBO wrestlers, the best results were demonstrated by the Syrian team, whose athletes won the largest number of medals. The Iraqis came second, the Lebanese team took the third place.
