FIAS Tribute to Aslambek Aslakhanov

The International SAMBO Federation expresses its deepest condolences on the tragic death of Aslambek Akhmedovich Aslakhanov.

Mr. Aslakhanov was a truly multifaceted personality: a renowned athlete, a talented scientist, and a prominent social and political figure. Honored Master of Sports in SAMBO, Master of Sports in Freestyle Wrestling and Judo, multiple World Champion in SAMBO among veterans, professor, Doctor of Law, a strong, strong-willed and purposeful person, Aslambek Akhmedovich wrote bright, truly legendary pages in the history of SAMBO and was able to achieve outstanding results in the social and political arena.

Mr. Aslakhanov 's merits in the development of SAMBO are widely known throughout the world. It is no coincidence that the Aslambek Aslakhanov Prize Tournament was a stage of the World SAMBO Cup.

The fond memory of this outstanding sambist, a sincere and wonderful person will forever be preserved by the entire SAMBO community, fans and connoisseurs of martial arts and combat sports all over the world.
