SAMBO has received official recognition in the department of La Paz

Demonstration performances of sambists took place on January 26 in the city of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name in Bolivia. The holiday was organized in honor of the official recognition of SAMBO as a sport that is developing in La Paz.

The department unites 87 municipalities with a population of about 3 million people. During the demonstration performances, which were attended by more than 120 guests, athletes demonstrated techniques from various SAMBO disciplines, and the organizers explained the principles and rules of this martial art.

“This event was a great celebration of the sport, and also helped to draw special attention to the need to support and develop SAMBO in our department,” said Marco Antonio Catunta Kantuta, president of the La Paz Regional SAMBO Association.
