Venezuelan SAMBO Federation Recognized as Federation of the Year

The Venezuelan SAMBO Federation, led by Cesar Arteaga, has been honored as Federation of the Year by the government of Aragua State and Regional Sports Institute of Aragua (IRDA) for its development and achievements in sport.

The award was presented during the traditional ceremony celebrating Venezuela's National Sports Day, held on January 9 at the Alfredo "Ratón" Márquez Sports Hall in Santiago Mariño Municipality. The National Sports Day itself is observed on January 6.

In addition to the federation's recognition, Karelia Granadillo was named Referee of the Year. According to her award certificate, the honor acknowledges "exceptional results, discipline and competitive spirit demonstrated at the regional and national sports level." The recognition highlights her achievements, dedication and dignified representation of Aragua State. It was said that Karelia Granadillo inspires new generations through her talent and complete commitment.

"This recognition fills us with pride and joy. It reflects the professionalism of our athletes, coaches and referees who work tirelessly for the development of SAMBO in Venezuela. We are grateful for this award and will continue working to take our sport to new heights," said Cesar Arteaga, President of the Venezuelan SAMBO Federation.
