Combat sambo was included in the program of Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games for the first time

According to the letter of Asian Games` director Haider Farman, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) added combat sambo to the program of Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. OCA granted the request of Sambo Union of Asia and included combat sambo in the program of the Games in nine weight categories.

“I hope this decision will make a contribution to sambo development on the Asian continent”, - said Farman`s letter.

Sambo sports style competitions among men and women have been included in the program of Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games as well. This year Games will be held from September 5 to September 24 in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Athletes from 62 countries of Asia and Oceania will take part in the competitions.
