More Than 300 Young Athletes Took Part in Morocco’s National Youth and Junior SAMBO Championship
The Royal Moroccan Federation of SAMBO and Tai Jitsu successfully held the 2025 National Youth and Junior SAMBO Championship on April 20, at the Ain Chock Sports Complex in Casablanca. The event, part of the Federation’s 2024/2025 national calendar, brought together over 300 young athletes from clubs across the country.
The championship featured competitions across various youth categories and included both Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO, reflecting Morocco’s commitment to aligning with international development standards set by the International SAMBO Federation.

“Throughout the day, young sambists showcased impressive technical skills and sportsmanship, earning praise from coaches, referees, and spectators alike. The high level of performance on the mat underscored the growing strength of Moroccan SAMBO and validated the Federation’s strategy to expand and deepen the sport’s national footprint,” noted the Royal Moroccan Federation of SAMBO and Tai Jitsu.
By hosting events like this championship, the Royal Moroccan Federation aims to establish Morocco as a continental leader in SAMBO, nurturing talent from the grassroots level and building a solid foundation for future national teams.

The refereeing team, led by Mr. Ali Ouel Djemel and supported by experienced officials including Mr. Khalid Ait Rabai, Mr. Abdelhak El Moustaid Billah, Mr. Mohamed Imadou Eddine, Mr. Younes Sif, Mr. Achraf Lahlou, Mr. Mustapha Salim, Ms. Nadia Karim, and Ms. Khadija Boukantar, ensured fair and smooth competition throughout the day. Secretariat duties were ably managed by Mr. Samir Azennoud, Mr. Mohamed Zouni, and Ms. Khadija El Moustaid Billah.
The championship concluded with a medal and diploma ceremony, attended by Federation President Dalil Skalli and National Technical Director Mohammed Aberouz, who congratulated the young athletes on their efforts and achievements.

“With vibrant energy and growing participation, the National Youth and Junior SAMBO Championship in Casablanca stands as a powerful testament to the bright future of SAMBO in Morocco,” national SAMBO federation concluded.
