Moroccan SAMBO Championship 2026 Held in Casablanca
The indoor hall of the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca hosted the Moroccan SAMBO Championship on April 5. The Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO competition, organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sambo and Tai Jitsu, brought together participants from clubs across all regions of the country.

“For many years, we have put in every effort to maintain the high organizational standard of our national championship. And when athletes step onto the mat, they show the results of years of hard training – to the delight of both experts and spectators,” the national federation said in a statement.

For most of the participants, the tournament served as an important milestone in their preparation for international competition – above all, the African SAMBO Championships, which remains one of the key targets on the calendar for Moroccan SAMBO athletes.

“The mats showcased a wide variety of techniques and fighting styles, making the competition both exciting and genuinely competitive. The large crowd created a vibrant atmosphere, and their support was clearly a source of motivation for the athletes to keep pushing until the very end,” the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sambo and Tai Jitsu noted.

Officiating duties were handled by a team of 13 referees: Ali Ouel Djemel, Khalid Ait Rabai, Mohamed Imad, Mohamed Imadou Eddine, Abdelhak El Moustaid Billah, Achraf Lahlou, Younes Sif, Badr Eddine Soussane, Mohamed Bouimecha, M'hamed Mabchour, Omar El Jamyi, Said Abbassi, and Nadia Karim.

Winners and medalists were presented with medals and certificates by federation president Dalil Skalli, National Technical Director Mohamed Aberouz, league presidents, federation members, and other representatives of the country's sporting community.
