SAMBO Throne Cup Held in Casablanca

The Royal Moroccan Federation of SAMBO and Tai-Jitsu held the traditional SAMBO Throne Cup on July 5 at the Ain Chock sports complex in Casablanca. Winning the Throne Cup is traditionally considered a special honor for athletes, lending the competition the standing of a national event.

“The competitors showed a high level of skill in their bouts on the mat, along with a genuine fighting spirit in the pursuit of victory. The large crowd in the stands, meanwhile, created an inspiring atmosphere and gave real support to the participating teams throughout the matches,” the tournament's organizing committee said.

Following intense finals, the Martial Arts Club claimed the top spot in Combat SAMBO, while the Kounouz Club won in Sport SAMBO. According to the organizing committee, both teams delivered standout performances and earned their place at the top of the podium.

The competition was officiated by chief referee Ali Ouel Djemel, assisted by Khalid Ait Rabai, Mohamed Imad, Mohamed Imadou Eddine, Abdelhak El Moustaid Billah, Said Abbassi, Mohamed Bouimecha, Younes Sif, Omar El Jamyi and Nadia Karim.

At the award ceremony, cups and medals were presented to the winners by Dalil Skalli, President of the national SAMBO federation, together with representatives of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Teaching and Sports, members of the federation's executive committee, and a number of other officials.
