The innovations in the uniform for the athletes and referees at the I European Games in Baku in 2015

20 June 2015 Sergei Grishin

Only two days are left before the start of the sambo tournament in the program of the I European Games in Baku in 2015. Athletes and coaches have come to the finish line of preparation for this competition and the audience is expecting a delicious spectacle. On the eve of the start the FIAS’s site tells us about innovations in the sambists’ uniform and the uniform of those who will referee their fights.

In the competition will participate representatives of 21 countries of the Old World: Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and France. Each participant will be dressed in the sambo uniform with the jacket embroidered with a coat of arms of his or her country. It will be located on the front left of the jacket, the closest to the heart. The FIAS’s site has put together all the photos of emblems on jackets and presents them to your attention.

As for the referees, their uniform will differ from a classical one. In the photo you can see a full set of clothes for the referee, only they go out onto the mat without a jacket in white short-sleeved shirts (with a logo on the chest) and gray trousers (looking darker on the picture). Their shoes will be similar to the ones they wore at the II World Games of Martial Arts "SportAccord" in St. Petersburg in 2013. Instead of the traditional sleeves of red and blue, this time the referees will use the appropriate cuffs.
