National Seminar of SAMBO Trainers in Morocco Gathered More Than 40 Participants

The Moroccan National Seminar of SAMBO Trainers was held at the Borgone Sports Center in Casablanca on February 1-2. More than 40 specialists took part in the event, which was organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation of SAMBO and Tai-Jitsu (FRMSTJ).

The training course was supervised by the National Technical Director Mohammed Aberouz, and directed by the 2nd International Category FIAS trainer Adil Loumame. The event was relayed by Mohamed Imad, national SAMBO coach, and assisted by the executives of the Technical Commission Sonia Menjour, Khalid Ait Rabai and Mohamed Imadou Eddine.

The training program focused on the classification and terminology of the different SAMBO techniques and their adaptation to the universal coaching standards dictated by the FIAS regulations, highlighting the rights and obligations of coaches. President of the Refereeing Commission Ali Ouel Djemel enriched the seminar with a course on the behavior that a coach must observe during championships.

The first day was devoted to practice: the participants worked on a large number of techniques in a standing position and on the ground. In parallel with this, the seminar leaders devoted time to explaining the classification and terminology of the techniques.

The second day of the seminar was the time for theoretical work. The trainers listened to a lecture on the official classification of SAMBO techniques, during which the terminology of SAMBO techniques was thoroughly analyzed. During the exchange of opinions, seminar mentors gave technical explanations on all the issues that interested the participants of the event.

Then it was time for the exam, where the trainers had to demonstrate their mastery of the subject. All the candidates passed this first test successfully.

"This training course was successful because it contributed to the standardization of SAMBO training in Morocco and the strengthening of the technical knowledge of national coaches. The participants not only mastered the classification and terminology of SAMBO, but also demonstrated good mastery of technical techniques on the mat. Coaches who successfully passed the exam will be certified accordingly," said Adil Loumame.

The closing ceremony of the seminar and the presentation of certificates of completion of the course were attended by the President of the Royal Moroccan SAMBO and Tai-Jitsu Federation Dalil Skalli, as well as the technical director of the national SAMBO Federation Mohamed Aberouz.

Dalil Skalli congratulated all the participants for the seriousness they demonstrated, and invited them to redouble their efforts to reach the desired levels allowing them to pass the exams for obtaining higher level certificates of aptitude.

"Adil Lumame, who directed the seminar, completed training at the International SAMBO Center, proving himself to be a competent and highly qualified professional. He became a representative of the FIAS Technical Commission on the African continent. This is part of our strategy to promote SAMBO on the continents, when local specialists conduct training using the methodology and educational materials of the International SAMBO Federation. Thus, national and continental SAMBO federations are moving together in one direction under the auspices of FIAS," said Sergey Tabakov, Executive Director of the International SAMBO Federation.

The Royal Moroccan Federation of SAMBO and Tai-Jitsu noted that the number of participants, presidents and technical directors of clubs that are part of the FRMSTJ, who are interested in improving their knowledge in the field of SAMBO and want to obtain an international diploma, indicates the constant growth of the popularity of SAMBO in Morocco.
