African SAMBO Championships-2023 will be held in Morocco

The main continental SAMBO tournament will be held in Moroccan Casablanca from 20 to 22 May. Men and women will compete for the title of the strongest sambists in Africa in Sport SAMBO, Combat SAMBO and Beach SAMBO.

Competitions in Combat SAMBO among women in two weight categories (59kg, 72kg) will be held for the first time in history on the African continent. The upcoming bouts will also be a selection for the World Combat Games, which will be held in Saudi Arabia at the end of October.

It is expected that teams from Algeria, Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Cameroon, Comoros, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Mauritius, Mauritania, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Togo, Tunisia and the Central African Republic.

Competitions will be held in the following weight categories:

Sport SAMBO (men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg

Sport SAMBO (women): 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg

Combat SAMBO (men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg

Combat SAMBO (women): 59 kg, 72 kg

Beach SAMBO (men): 58 kg, 71 kg, 88 kg, +88 kg

Beach SAMBO (women): 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg

The tournament will be broadcasted live on the FIAS website.
