Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championships will be held in Kazakhstan
Several major tournaments will be hosted in the capital of Kazakhstan – the city of Astana from June 7 to 11. SAMBO competitions will be held among adults, juniors, youth, masters, as well as among blind and visually impaired sambists.
The general partner of the tournament is Rosneft oil company.
The event is expected to be attended by teams from Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Japan, Jordan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Palestine, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
“This year, for the first time in history, the Asia and Oceania Championships among the blind and visually impaired sambists will be held, where athletes from different countries of the world will take part. FIAS continues to pay great attention to the involvement and adaptation of people with disabilities in our sport, to create opportunities for holding international tournaments. I am sure that in the near future other continental federations will be able to adopt our experience. Another feature of the upcoming Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championships will be the holding of Combat SAMBO competitions among women and juniors,” said Alamjon Mullaev, FIAS Vice President, Head of the SAMBO Union of Asia.

Athletes will compete for medals in the following weight categories:
Women: 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg
Men: 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
Juniors (W): 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg
Juniors (M): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
Youth (W): 47 kg, 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg
Youth (M): 53 kg, 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
Combat SAMBO (W): 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg
Combat SAMBO (M): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
Combat SAMBO (Juniors Women): 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg
Combat Sambo (Juniors Men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
Masters: 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg (age groups: 35-39, 40-44 and 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, +65 )
Blind (SVI - 1) and visually impaired (SVI - 2) (men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
The venue for the competition will be the Beeline Arena. Registration of athletes for the tournament is carried out using the FIAS electronic system (Database): https://fms.sambo.sport/registration.
Only certified coaches who have passed the FIAS certification will be able to second the athletes during the fights.
