“It is not the first time that Thessaloniki has hosted an international SAMBO tournament of such a high level. Earlier in 2013, we already managed to successfully host the World Youth and Junior Championships in this Greek city. Due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, this time not all countries will be able to send their athletes to compete, but I am sure this will not affect the quality and entertainment of the fights. Growing up, but already experienced sambists will be able to prove themselves, demonstrate their technical skills, fortitude and will to win,” FIAS President Vasily Shestakov noted.
