Head of the African SAMBO Confederation visited Cameroon in preparation for the continental championships
President of the African SAMBO Confederation, FIAS Vice President Dalil Scally visited Cameroon with an inspection on the eve of the African SAMBO Championships, which will be held July 16-18 in Yaoundé. General partner of the tournament is Rosneft oil company.

During his visit, Dalil Scally, together with the head of the Cameroonian SAMBO, a member of the FIAS Executive Committee Francois Mbassi, met with the Minister of Sports of Cameroon Narcisse Mouelle Kombi and the President of the National Olympic Committee of the country, Colonel Hamad Kalkaba Malboum.

The meeting participants discussed the course of preparations for the upcoming tournament and reached important agreements on the further development of SAMBO in Cameroon and Africa.

“Cameroon is fully prepared to host the event and is looking forward to meeting with African SAMBO teams,” Dalil Scally said after visiting the country.

Cameroon has historically been one of the best countries in the development of SAMBO in Africa. Last year, the national team of this country won eight medals at the continental championship in Egypt, five of which were gold.

We also recall that in 2020, Seidou Nji Moulu from Cameroon became the first African sambo wrestler to win the world title. He had no equal in the weight category up to 100 kg among men in combat sambo.
